SUNDAY STORIES » JO MALONE COCKTAIL PARTY & OTHER STUFF COOL KIDS DO

I do love all of my friends, but I feel like each one of them represents a different part of me. So there are some things I like doing with someone, other with someone else, and when it's about spending a day shopping and being #CommonWhiteGirls af, I know there is only one: Lisa (Yup, the one I steal all the cool pics from).

The other Saturday we went to Rome to attend the cocktail party Jo Malone was throwing in honor of the launch of their new Rock The Ages collection, inspired by the different versions of England through the time. There were mini cupcakes and sweets and a bar with five different cocktails, one to match each scent. We went for the most alcoholic one (ahem) inspired by Birch & Black Pepper, it had licorice liquor and rum in it and was uh-ma-zing. I especially loved the sweet punch at the end given by the licorice and brown sugar, and the subtle orange and pepper flavor.

Out of all the colognes, Birch & Black Pepper was my favorite. Definitely unique, it smells a bit like smoke and pepper and I've heard it also contains traces of ink, to symbolize the tattoos of modern London. I don't know if I would personally wear it, but I think I'd love to smell it on a boy, as you know all Jo Malone's fragrances are unisex. Another one that sounder interesting was Tudor Rose & Amber, which should've had some iron in its bottom notes to represent the blood that was poured during the Tudor period, but in reality it smelt a bit like a grandma wearing a rose perfume to be honest. Lily of the Valley & Ivy and was instead very lightly floral and fresh, whereas Geranium & Verbena was still summery, but more crisp and earthy, almost grassy.

After the party we decided to head to the Mac store when my first Mac purchase (yeah, first, remember this post?) happened. No shame in admitting that it was Kylie Jenner's lip liner in Soar (Kim K herself said that's the one she uses): you know I love a good KJ pout, plus, it was in mine Never in A Million Years Wishlist, so it's a win-win.

Finally, we managed to get a seat in Ginger, one of my favorite places to eat in Rome. It is very healthy, very estethic, and though not super expensive if you know what to choose, also inhabitated by some Gold American Express owners, let me tell you. We got two salads and switched them halfway: Mastai, with strawberries, fontina, prosciutto and baby pink ravish, and Botticella, with salmon, mango and pistachios. The latter was my favorite (I'm a sucker for salmon) but they were both good and SO BIG. Like they were served in proper buckets. Hmm... sorry, drooling is happening, brb, gotta try and make some fancy healthy recipes my own!
