A FEW HOME TRUTHS ABOUT HAVING SHORT HAIR

» NOT SO MUCH OF A CHANGE
Even though cutting my hair short has been the biggest change I've made since, in 2011, I decided a Taylor Swift blonde would have suited me better than my natural chestnut locks (big mistake), it wasn't as much of a shock for everyone else. So many people didn't noticed my new haircut, from boys (but do they actually look at you at all?) to girls (who thought 'I had my hair tucked into my shirt' - actual words). So if your craving the 'What the hell happened' factor, you'll be disappointed.

» TIME WARP
I had a number of people telling me I look 7 with this haircut, and a equal number saying I look 25 (and someone who said I looked 70, but let's just ignore that). So apparently, this haircut changes your age. I do understand this confusion though because I can see myself being more sophisticated but more modern at the same time, so the official jury is that I look like a young New Yorker who uses an incredible moisturizer.

» EVIL ENDS
They stick out. That's all, that's my nightmare. I can deal with them in the front, with an army of hairspray and straighteners, but the back is nearly impossible. And every time you'll rest your head on the pillow, it'll get worse: you have no idea what's the situation in the mornings. But since I've seen that even the best of us (aka Taylor Swift) can't avoid this problem I guess I'll just have to accept it, (even though I'll never give up).

» IT'S STYLING
Oh girl, you have no idea what 'Styling' means until you have a bob. You can't leave your locks alone hoping they'll fall into place - or in a ponytail, if things go wrong - anymore, you have to work it. And yes, maybe it takes less to wash your hair, but you'll compensate with the time you need to get a perfect blow-dry, just to see it ruined the morning after. It's just been a week though, so I'm still learning...

» THE LESS PRODUCT YOU USE...
...the more it will last you, the more you can spend on it? I think that should be a thing. I mean, as I said before, I need a proper styling now that I've gone short and so maybe I can justify a little more expensive purchase. I'm still reflecting whether it is worth it or not, but I'll admit I have my eyes on a certain Bumble&Bumble Cityswept Finish...

» THE PONYTAIL
I can actually put my hair up in a ponytail (even a high one, if I can deal with a few hair falling out), but I don't feel like I need to as much as before. I don't feel like my hair is suffocating me anymore and I can happily go a whole day with my hair down. Only times when I need an elastic band? When I work out and when I wash my face, but maybe for the latter #daclip would do...

» A WHOLE NEW WORLD
Let me tell you: having short hair is nothing like having long one. The hairstyles you used to rock and the techniques you've learnt won't do you anymore, but I find it quite exciting. There's so many tutorials I need to follow and textures I want to experiment. Everything is so new and challenging and, honestly, funny.

» FAREWELL, MY FRIEND
Despite everything I've just said and despite all the difficulties having a bob implies, I haven't missed my long mane once. I may found myself wishing I didn't have layers or I went a little shorter or longer, but never looked back. I think my mom is right when she says: 'What's the point of having long hair if it's damaged and ugly?' and I was at a point I couldn't even leave the house without a 20 minutes blow-dry. So goodbye boob-lenght strands, surprisingly, you won't be missed.
