HOW TO WEAR A DARK LIP WITHOUT LOOKING LIKE A CULLEN
I know this make up look is as unseasonal as a ginger cookies recipe, but I actually have this thing about dark lips in the Summer, worn with a white lace shirt and bronzed skin, that I just can't get out of my head.
By the way the problem about dark lips to me is that I never really know how to wear them: I can't find the balance between too little and too much and usually end up looking like a vampire with just too make up on. Searching the web for make up looks is a really good way to learn how to rock something you are completely clueless about, and I'm also a big fan of applying the dark lipstick (Here I'm using Wet'n'Wild Cherry Bomb) before the rest of your make up just so you know what you are working with and if you really need that much blush, because honestly, do you?
But my favorite way of styling a dark lip has been suggested by Lily's video and basically consists in a pretty simple make up, with just a pop of color under the eyes that will make you look alive but not too overdone. The trick is in leaving the top lid bare, just adding a bit of mascara, which will dress down the whole thing and make it wearable even in the daytime, and then add a swipe of warm shadow (I'm using UD Naked 3 Factory, but I'd recommend a more amber one if you have blue eyes) underneath. This will open up the eyes, give them definition, add a bit of color and, if you wing it out like I did, also give a nice cat eye shape, similar to what you would get with the classic eyeliner.
I'm so in love with this look as it has made wearing dark lips so much easier and accessible, also, I finally know what to do with my eyes when I'm going all Cullen on my lips! Now I just need a bit of sun to bronze my skin up and take that zombie color away from my face, please...
