THREE TRICKS » YOU CAN DO WITH THERMAL SPRAYS (WHICH ARE NOT COMPLETELY USELESS!)

I have always thought about thermal sprays as overpriced water in cans, so when my dad came home with this Avène Eau Thermale sample - yup, I didn't spend my hard earned money on it - I looked at it like 'What are you and why do you exist'. It sat on my shelf for quite a while before I worked out a couple of uses for it, but now I'm completely hooked and it's one of those things I need in my life.

I don't really think the water itself makes a big difference, though, (maybe if you have super sensible skin?), but I guess the secret is in the super fine mist it creates. My advice then is to find a thermal spray that comes with a finely spraying bottle that can be refilled, and then, once you're out, just use plain water.
The fact that you need a water mist in your life is not questionable, though, trust me.

» GOODBYE CAKEY MAKE UP!
Personally, that's why I need thermal sprays into my life. Sprayed on your face after you've really gone to town with make up (whether purposely or not) makes every layer blend together and mesh perfectly with the natural oils of your skin, creating the illusion of a glowy almost-bare face, when in reality you have twelve different types of foundation on (Slight exaggeration). It really does make your skin look like skin and creates a kinda soft focus effect which I'm obsessed with. Honestly, try it and you'll never look back!

» THAT PERFECT UNDONE WAVE
I got this trick from TheBeautyDepartment: basically, after you've curled your hair, all you need to do is spray a little water and your waves will open and diffuse, creating a perfect I woke up like this effect. If you want a little more details and a step by step tutorial, check this out.

» I'M TOO HOT, HOT DAMN
That's one of the most canonic use for thermal spray, aka being used in situations that are known as 'It's freaking hot and I have make up on'. Here you'll love this fine water mist which will refresh you without ruining your cat eye. Not to mention that it is far more classy than pouring a bottle of water onto your face or swiping your arm across your sweaty forehead, creating a beautiful Kandiskij of foundation and brow shadow on your sleeve.

  1. Great post! I have never thought about doing this before. I always use a make up setting spray to keep my make up in check but a water mist would be so much cheaper! xx
