LUSH BUBBLEGUM LIP SCRUB REVIEW
When sales season swung around, though, I managed to get a pot of Bubblegum for half price and those are my thoughts about it.
I'll start off by saying this isn't my cup of tea in terms of scents. I would have much rather picked something more spicy / minty / def not that sweet. But I got this since it was in the sales. I feel like if you love very sweet scents, you'd be into this. It is very bubble gummy and smells - and tastes! - like those pink and white strawberry flavored candy.
What you do with this is you rub it on your lips, then lick it off. I have to say it really do does its job: a nice rub of this and all the pesky flakes disappear, and you also get to enjoy some nice flavored sugar in the process. I also think this is going to last me quite a while and it's a winner if you want to wear a matte pout. I also love using it before going to bed and then topping it up with my beloved Nuxe Reve de Miel.
What I would say about this though is that it is quite messy, so always best to use it before putting your make up on. Also, it is ridiculously overpriced. It is good, right, but when you look at the ingredients and see there is basically only caster sugar and jojoba oil it makes you want to cry.
I wouldn't recommend you to spend your money on this then, taking a bit of ordinary caster sugar and rubbing it onto your lips will most likely get the same results, especially if you add a drop of coconut or olive oil to it. If you want something a bit fancier there are tons of great tutorials online to make your own lip scrub that literally take like te seconds and cost you less than 1€. I even did one myself and I'm thinking about an updated version that is a little harsher and also has cinnamon in it, which should make your lips appear fuller.
And you? Would you go down the DIY road or spend your pennies on a pre-made scrub out of laziness?
