THREE TRICKS FOR » NOT GETTING SUCKED INTO THE INTERNET

» SET A TIMER
I think the worst with the internet is that you lose the sense of time, so setting an alarm will remember you that yup, it's been a whole hour since you've logged into Twitter. Also, this will help you be more productive and don't get lost in every single link you find (it happens to the best of us) but keep your eyes on what you really wanted to check out. Do you think you'll struggle to log out once the alarm goes off? Set it with a name that will motivate you, for example 'Whatever you're checking, it's gonna be there tomorrow too'. I mean, everything lasts forever on the internet, doesn't it?
» CLEAR YOUR FEED
Lately I realized it took me a whole 20 minutes to get through my whole Instagram feed, but if I hadn't been logging in for a while, I would have just checked a few users. This is when I decided to give my Instagram feed a good ol' clear out, and keep following only the ones that got me really excited for the pics they're posting. Remember that just because you'd liked someone once doesn't mean you have to like them forever (this is why you can undo a follow) and that even if you're a fan of somebody, that doesn't mean you have to follow them on every platform. I mean, Toaster looks sh*t even if you're Harry Styles*.
» MULTITASK
Ok so you know you're going to spend a lot of time on the internet anyway, what should you do in order to not feel like a complete slob? Well, thank God (maybe) most of things you'll about to do (watching YouTube, reading blogs etc) are quite passive, so you can still tidy your room or pluck your eyebrows while you're doing it. My favorite thing to do while surfing the web is doing my nails: this way I won't have to wait for them to dry without doing nothing and I'll also be able to do some more active tasks, like writing this post for example!*JK, Harry doesn't use Toaster. Nobody uses Toaster.
