LFW SS15 BURBERRY MAKE UP WITH DRUGSTORE PRODUCTS
Today I'm recreating the LFW SS15 Burberry make up, which all revolves around a red lip. What I love about this make up is the way the bold lipstick is made more wearable with a minimal, yet modern make up on the rest of the face.
- I've started out with the L'Oréal Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer to create a luminous base, and then mixed a bit of it to the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation to add even more glow to the face, which is one of the key feature of the make up look and makes the whole red thing way more wearable, in opposition to a classic matte skin you would usually pair it with.
- Then I've blended a bit of Collection Lasting Perfection concealer with a Real Techniques flat foundation brush.
- To bring out the cheekbones and give a little bit more color I've used the Sleek Face Contour Kit contour powder in the hollows of my cheeks using a RT contour brush, which I've also used to add even more light to my face with the Sleek Contour Kit highlighter, dabbing it on my brow bone and on the top of my cheeks.
- I've then defined my eyebrows with the Anastasia DipBrown Pomade and an angled brush as always.
- Eyes where the most interesting part of the look I think as they were kept super simple, without even using mascara, to give a more modern feel. I've used the Naked3 brush to sweep Nooner on my lids and under my eyes, creating a very subtle shadow that frames the eyes and gives that zombish look you always see on the catwalk.
- Then it was time for the focusing point: the lips. I've used my favorite red lipstick which is Rimmel Kate Moss in 10.
Today I wore this make up look to school and I had a mixed feedback: a few people noticed I wasn't wearing mascara and asked me why, someone instead made comments about my bold lip color choice and finally there was my mom who said I looked dead (sorry if I'm pale mom, but, actually, you made me this way). Despite everything, though, I really really love this make up look. I think it's quite new and unique and definitely a fresh twist on the classic red lipstick.
I also think it's way more comfortable and wearable than the matte skin + winged eyeliner you would usually pair cherry lips with and I definitely felt quite dressed down, despite the glamourous pout. Overall I've been really enjoying trying something new and I think I'll wear this look again and again (and can we talk about how amazing it is to remove your make up without having to fight with mascara or eyeliner?).
