THREE TRICKS FOR » A FULLER BRAID

You know those braids you see on the magazines, the ones that are so full they probably weight more than the model herself? They're probably children of extensions, photoshop and the same magic that feeds Cara's brows so it's almost impossible we mere humans get the exact same effect, but here's three tricks to bring you at least closer to a Blake Lively plait.

» DRY SHAMPOO
Spray a bit of dry shampoo (I recommend this one) on the locks you want to braid to give volume and add grip to your hair. It will also add that texturized matte vibe that's of a voluminous plait.

» KEEP IT LOOSE
While braiding, make sure the strands aren't tight, this way you'll create the illusion of a fuller braid. I always think about this trick as the air you want to incorporate in a mousse to make it big and fluffy.

» PULL IT OUT
Now that the braid's done, you need to carefully pull it out to give it even more volume. The dry shampoo will help keeping the braid together and not make the strands slip out of it, but it's always good to be very careful during this step. Once you have your XXL braid it's time to give it a good ol' hairspray spun to make sure everything stays in place.
