1D TURIN GETAWAY » DAY 1: FIRST IMPRESSION

Last weekend me and my old friend Aurora went on a mini trip to Turin to see One Direction concert. Other than being great directioners, we’ve never been to Turin, that everyone was raving about, so we thought it could be fun.

Coming from Rome, I never expect to be amazed artistically talking from a city, but I do love that metropolitan feel you get like in Milan, which, unluckily, Turin didn’t have.

Long story short I didn’t like Turin, we arrived there at 6 pm and all we wanted was a bit of shopping and a pizza, but it took us ages to find a H&M - that was also very busy so the only thing I bought was a hat - and even more time to find a place to eat.

After wandering around for half a hour starving, we finally settled for this gelato shop which actually was really good. I had a seven euros worthy cup - that was my dinner, don’t judge me - with cinnamon, caramel, nutella, strawberry and pear and also this really cool cocktail the guy there created for me which was really really good. It was tea infused vodka - which I’ve never had before - with mashed strawberries and grapefruits at the bottom. It looked very pretty and I felt so flattered since it was the first time I had a special cocktail made.

Once we ate, we were tired and a bit tipsy, so we decided to wander around Turin a bit more. Though it was Saturday night nobody was around, so we ended up singing our lungs out to the ‘Vas Happenin’’ song and then basically enacting all the concert we were going to see the night after, sitting under a statue and with a little frizzy head.

Turin wasn’t great, but Aurora is, so I guess we had fun anyway.
