ON HAVING A BAD DAY...
Can you tell I like roses? |
In terms of happiness, I push myself.
I'm always repeating to myself to put things in prospective, and how lucky I am and how I really don't have the right to feel blue.
But I do feel blue sometimes.
It's just a set of things: a driving lesson went bad, a friend answering what he shouldn't have answered, a couple of guys on Facebook going on the trip of your dreams, your mom telling you 'no' to a new bed... It's just a big, messy, horrible, set of things. And then you walk home and you feel down, but you're not going to tell anyone around you because you know you shouldn't be feeling like that, you know it is stupid to feel like that, but you can't help yourself.
Well, my friends, I think here's where the mistake lays. You can feel like sh*t sometimes and, even more important, you have the right to. Yeah, it's true, you're probably luckier than half of the world (just think that you are reading this on a laptop while there are children that can't have water) and you definitely shouldn't lose it all and start complaining about everything but sometimes, just sometimes, it's ok to feel down for something that it's not worth it, it's ok to sit in all day and watching tv series and trash tv, it's ok to eat a couple toasts with jam and three cups of chocolate milk.
It is OK.
I know for some of you this all is already pretty obvious, but if you're anything like me, and you feel like sometimes - especially in the summer - you have to have fun, and to go outside and to do something, then I hope this will remind you that you can unplug and waste your time for a bit, without having to feel guilty.
I know this is something different form my usual blog content (aka reviews) but as I said yesterday I'm quite sick of writing the same stuff and as you may have got form this post, I wasn't quite feeling it today, but I wanted to write down a post for you anyway so I hope it's fine!
Also, let me know if you would like to see something like that more often.
And you, what do you do when you're feeling a little blue?
